PAYDAY IS
EVERY DAY

EarnIn × La La Anthony
Commercial / FinTech

La La Anthony picks up. Between paydays, working people wait on money they have already earned. Every film below answers that call in a different world.

CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW

EarnIn wanted to do
more than run an ad.

They wanted to retire a word. The brand’s PR campaign made the case that “payday” belongs in the past, and petitioned to remove it from the dictionary, because when you can access your pay as you earn it, the word describes a problem that no longer needs to exist. WORTHI, the cultural connections agency, led the charge. Ritual Ads came in as production partner to both the agency and the brand, turning the idea into film. And the film refuses to perform. No sets pretending to be real life. No actress pretending to be a boss. La La Anthony playing one role, herself, told through her own real pictures. Her past plays as archival because it happened. Her present plays as documentary because it still does.

From the TRL booth to boss
Our strategy

NOTHING PERFORMED.
EVERYTHING EARNED.

One production partner, serving agency and brand and answering to both. For WORTHI, Ritual Ads made the cultural strategy filmable. For EarnIn, Ritual Ads made the brand message believable. Before a single light was rigged, the entire film existed: hand-drawn director’s boards, four fully designed worlds, a timing map from first word to logo, all pressure-tested in previz. Agency and brand signed off on the finished film before it was filmed. Then it was shot in one studio day.
Real Archival First Ritual Ads never faked a younger La La. Six eras of her actual career carry the past, from the 2001 MTV booth to the founder years, each clip kept in its native grain. When the film says she lived it, the footage proves it.
Culture First, Product Second WORTHI’s insight drove the creative: EarnIn’s customers are not a demographic, they are a lived experience. La La’s audience watched her wait on paydays for real. The product moment lands because she is not selling the fix. She remembers the problem.
The Boss Answers Her team’s requests hit the screen as one urgent storm of Slack, email, and text. And because she remembers the two-week wait, she answers it: “It’s your money.” EarnIn arrives as the thing a good boss does, not the thing an ad sells.

RITUALIZED RESULTS

The spot launched the way it was built: organically. No media buy. No promoted post. La La published the film to her own Instagram, straight to 15.8 million followers who have watched her come up in real time for two decades. The film became the proof point of the PR story, a working example of a world where payday is every day and the word has nothing left to describe. The audience that knew her when she was waiting on payday watched her fix it for her own team. That is not reach. That is trust, at scale.

Final Impact

RETIRE THE WORD.
KEEP THE MONEY.

Six eras of real archival. One organic post. Zero paid media.
Most celebrity campaigns rent a face. This one told a life in service of a bigger idea: a world where “payday” is a word the working world no longer needs. WORTHI found the cultural truth, Ritual Ads produced it for agency and brand alike, and La La gave it the only thing money cannot buy: an audience that already believed her.
